| fussnote | An investigation was undertaken of the climatic characteristics of the Canary Island, and of the soil types observed in the arid regions of the dryer islands. Classification and physico-chemical characteristics of these soils types are included. The existence of Torrands in the arid regions of the Canary Islands represents a new contribution to the Soil Taxonomy. The different great groups of the Orthids and Argids, are discussed as well as the complex buried soils obverved. The existence of Paleoclimatic conditions are evident, from the characteristics shown by some of these soils. |
