Summary Administration of ethanol (2 g/kg, 20% w/v i.p.) to mice produced a significant increase in their locomotor activity. Pretreatment with the monoamine oxidase inhibitor nialamide, whichper se had no marked effect on the locomotor activity, prevented the ethanol-induced locomotor stimulation. The possibility that this effect of nialamide is mediated by a feed-back mechanism is discussed.
