Summary According to our experiences in the chemotherapeutical and radiological treatment of head and neck carcinomas by cell synchronization strict management advises merely are to support. First cell kinetics measurements demonstrate different cell cycles in different tumors although similarities in S and G2 cycles are to be observed. Beyond this it has to be calculated with the possibility of changing of cell kinetics in the therapeutic course against the pretherapeutic values. Regarding the variety of open questions in cell kinetics the accordance with cell kinetic parameter in tumor management seems to be necessary. For clinical applicability inspite of changing cell phases we established a system including the time values of all cell phases to subdivide the G1-phase in that way, that in every day one chemotherapeutical and radiological treatment is possible.
