Abstract Faraday rotation up to 20 kGauß was measured on amorphous selenium in the spectral range between 690 and 930 mμ. From these measurements an effective mass was calculated to (8±l,5)m 0. It is shown that the dispersion in amorphous selenium is caused by bounded carriers.
