Mössbauer spectroscopy studies of PtFe/NaY zeolite

Abstract PtFe/NaY was characterized by Mössbauer spectroscopy after pretreatments in O2 and H2 at 700 K. Comparison of room-temperature spectra with those for standard Fe/NaY gave evidence for interaction between Pt and Fe. This result is discussed with respect to the phenomenon of chemical anchoring of Pt in zeolites.
