Abstract Precipitation of a phase identified as 6NaCl. MnCl2 has been studied by X-ray diffraction in slowly cooled single crystals of NaCl doped with MnCl2. The relevance of these observations to other studies of esr, clustering and mechanical properties in this system is discussed.
