Conclusions 1. We have shown that the resistance of homogeneous ferritic—austenitic stainless steels to pitting corrosion is ensured by increasing the chromium concentration and by additional alloying with molybdenum. 2. We have shown the possibility of replacing chromium—nickel steels of the Kh18N10T type with steels with a lower nickel concentration in several corrosive media (sea water, iron chloride, dilute nitric acid, etc.).
