The voltammetric properties of colloid dispersions of polyaniline have been studied. It has been found that with the use of appropriate oxidants, spherical polyaniline colloids with well defined voltammetric characteristics can be obtained. It has also been found that these colloids can be electrocoagulated to form coatings by imposition of a negative potential. Novel ‘Composite films’ can also be deposited from mixtures of colloids and show unique properties.
