A review of known approaches to the optimization of vehicle gear ratios is conducted. Russian Federation regulations requirements regarding vehicle dynamic are analyzed. The characteristics of an internal combustion engine, such as a mechanical and fuel map are obtained experimentally. The numbers of gears to be optimized are chosen reasonably. The methodology of the fuel usage calculating according to driving test in the standardized cycles was developed and demonstrated. |
