ISSN: 1089-7550Source: AIP Digital ArchiveTopics: PhysicsNotes: Structure in the electrically detected magnetic resonance signal from a common type of Si diode has been resolved and measured for different orientations of the magnetic field in the (111) plane. The center is found to have C3v symmetry with Δg(parallel)(approximately-greater-than)0 and Δg⊥≈0. It is proposed that the signal is due to a broken bond, or combination of colinear broken bonds, in a vacancy cluster which acts as a recombination center. The most likely cluster is the divacancy which has captured an electron in the antibonding state formed from the most distant broken bonds and a hole in a bonding state associated with the divacancy. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1089-7550Source: AIP Digital ArchiveTopics: PhysicsNotes: The variation of the electrically detected magnetic-resonance signal from a Si diode has been studied in detail as a function of forward bias voltage in the temperature range 203–314 K. The results are explained in terms of the model of a weakly exchange-coupled pair of carriers in the ground and excited states respectively of a nonradiative recombination center. It was found that only a small proportion of the recombination centers in the space-charge region was paramagnetic and therefore contributed to the signal. The detailed agreement between theory and experiment enabled the time constants of the processes involved in those recombination centers to be determined as well as their spin-lattice relaxation time. More important, an energy level of the paramagnetic recombination center has been determined to be located 0.36 eV below the conduction-band edge. It is significant that the magnetic-resonance spectrum and the energy level of a recombination center have been determined in the same experiment. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1077-3118Source: AIP Digital ArchiveTopics: PhysicsNotes: A general expression is obtained for the electrically detected magnetic resonance (EDMR) signal from semiconductors based on the electron-hole pair model. The expression is applicable for all values of the trapping, dissociation, and recombination rates of the levels involved. Measurements of the EDMR signal as a function of microwave power are used to obtain values for the dissociation and recombination rates for a center in a Si diode.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

Intense photoluminescence (PL) peaked at about 550 nm is observed in the implanted films under an excitation of 441.6 nm laser line. The PL intensity varies with annealing temperature, and reaches a maximum at the annealing temperature of 600 °C. The luminescence may originate from the complex of Si, N, O, and C in the films. © 1997 American Institute of Physics.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

Enhanced hole injection is clearly demonstrated from the p-Si anode as compared to the indium–tin–oxide (ITO) anode. The mechanisms of hole injection from both the p-Si and ITO anodes into the organic layer are investigated and a possible model based on anode surface band bending is proposed. During the operation of the organic light-emitting device, the surface band bending of the anode plays a very important role in modifying the interfacial barrier height between the anode and the organic layer. © 1999 American Institute of Physics.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

This involves pure DCM layers deposited on top of a tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq) layer or positioned between two Alq layer, DCM-doped Alq films, and periodically arranged Alq/DCM multilayer structures. The occurrence over a period of time of aggregation and permeation of DCM molecules at room temperature and at temperatures as low as ∼260 K is found in all the cases studied. Such a phenomenon will result in degradation of related organic light-emitting devices and is closely related to the electric polarity of the DCM molecule. © 2002 American Institute of Physics.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1434-6052Source: Springer Online Journal Archives 1860-2000Topics: PhysicsNotes: Abstract. In the supersymmetric seesaw model, large flavor mixings of sleptons induce the lepton flavor violating (LFV) interactions $\ell_I \bar\ell_J V$ ( $V = \gamma, Z$ ), which give rise to various LFV processes. In this work we examine the LFV decays $Z\to\ell_I \bar\ell_J$ . Subject to the constraints from the existing neutrino oscillation data and the experimental bounds on the decays $\ell_J\to\ell_I\gamma$ , these LFV Z-decays are found to be sizable, and among them the largest-rate channel $Z\to \tau \bar{\mu}$ can occur with a branching ratio of 10-8 and may be accessible at the LHC or GigaZ experiment.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL:
