Published 2000Staff ViewISSN: 1077-3118Source: AIP Digital ArchiveTopics: PhysicsNotes: We studied the photoluminescence spectra of rapid-thermal-annealed self-assembled InAs quantum dots at 10 K. For annealing temperatures ranging from 700 to 950 °C, we observed a blueshift in the interband transition energies, a decrease in the intersublevel spacing energies, and a narrowing of photoluminescence linewidths. In this letter, we demonstrate that the tuning of the InAs quantum dots interband transition and intersublevel spacing energies can be achieved by 30 s of rapid thermal annealing. The relation between interband transition energy changes and the intersublevel spacing energies is found to be linear, with a slope close to the ratio of the dots' height to their diameter. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

No difference in gel strength occurred between stretched and cold-shortened muscles, but cooking loss was lower for stretched muscle. Stretched muscle sarcomeres were longer than those of cold-shortened muscle. The myofibril fraction from stretched muscle had higher gel strength, viscosity index, elasticity, and lower cooking loss than that from cold-shortened muscle. These results suggest that the contractile state of the muscle affects protein binding and water binding of the myofibrillar fraction.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

It was found that the optimum output energy at each pressure was obtained at the same specific power deposition. Strong line competition has been observed between the 2.65 and 1.73 μm transitions. In order to explain our results we suggest that besides electron collision mixing (ECM) between the 5d and 6p levels of Xe, there is also a redistribution between all 6p levels which strongly favours the lower levels at higher pumping densities.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL:
