This contrasts with MORB glasses, which are quenched rapidly enough on the ocean floor to trap substantial quantities of the magmatic gas17'18. Kaneoka et a/.12, however, have shown that the olivine ...Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

The water was monitored using a CTD probe and numerous chemical measurements have been made on these ...Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

Using these cells, the antibodies in a number of other cases of cold antibody hsemolytic anaemia were also found to have I specificity. At the ...Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

Extraction and measurement of the grown-in daughter, 3He, provides a measure of the parent tritium content. The minimum detectable quantity of ...Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

The area was chosen as a testing ground for the Beta-Spiral calculations-a geostrophic computation which yields absolute flow velocities1. The ...Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

These auto-agglutinins were inactive by anti-globulin or enzyme techniques and could not be absorbed by saline-suspended red cells. We have ...Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

We suggest that a state of excessive erythrocyte sensibility to agglutination by anti-?I?and anti-'i' may exist in certain disease states, ...Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1476-4687Source: Nature Archives 1869 - 2009Topics: BiologyChemistry and PharmacologyMedicineNatural Sciences in GeneralPhysicsNotes: [Auszug] Recently, two lines of evidence based on dissolved oxygen distributions have been used to argue for new (non-regenerative) production rates in oligotrophic waters of ~3 moles of carbon m~2 per yr (refs 1-6). Such estimates appear inconsistent with previous doctrine regarding new production in ...Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1432-2072Keywords: Clonidine ; Alcohol withdrawal ; ManSource: Springer Online Journal Archives 1860-2000Topics: MedicineNotes: Abstract Clonidine hydrochloride 5 μg/kg and placebo were given orally to 11 patients experiencing well-developed alcohol withdrawal states. Active drug and placebo were given in a randomised, cross-over double blind fashion 2 h apart. Clonidine significantly suppressed heart rate (P=0.002), arterial blood pressure (P=0.006), and an accumulated score of withdrawal symptoms and signs (P=0.004). These data suggest that clonidine may be useful in the management of alcohol withdrawal states, and that the underlying pathophysiology of at least some of these manifestations may be sympathetic nervous system hyperactivity.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL:
