ISSN: 1572-946XSource: Springer Online Journal Archives 1860-2000Topics: PhysicsNotes: Abstract We present new empirical fitting functions describing the behaviour of the discontinuity at λ4000 Å in terms of the stellar atmospheric parameters: effective temperature, metallicity and surface gravity.
