ISSN: 1434-6036Source: Springer Online Journal Archives 1860-2000Topics: PhysicsNotes: Abstract The space extension of a single magnetization fluctuation in the disordered paramagnetic medium defined within the coherent potential approximation is discussed. The thermodynamical potential functional for the subspace of nearly completely disordered configurations is derived.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1434-6036Source: Springer Online Journal Archives 1860-2000Topics: PhysicsNotes: Abstract A microscopic model is presented to show explicitly how dynamical charge and lattice fluctuations (at zero temperature the zero point motion) will-through spin orbit coupling-induce spin-flip terms off-electrons in intermediate valent and heavy fermion systems. A simple model Hamiltonian coupling charge, lattice, and spin degrees of freedom is derived and diagonalized exactly.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1434-6036Source: Springer Online Journal Archives 1860-2000Topics: PhysicsNotes: Abstract Two exactly solvable models are presented to describe the dynamic coupling of magnetic transitions within Kramer's degenerate multiplets and lattice vibrations. The magnetic susceptibilities are calculated. It is shown that the “spin-boson” coupling can reduce the single ion Curic constant at low temperature. For special symmetries the Curie constant may vanish, yielding a temperature independent susceptibility at lowT.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1434-6036Source: Springer Online Journal Archives 1860-2000Topics: PhysicsNotes: Abstract A derivation of the ordering part of the free energy functional based on an expansion about the free energy of a random CPA tight-binding paramagnetic effective medium is presented. Considering the dominant term of this functional, which is of Heisenberg form, the static magnetic correlation function is calculated within a spherical model approximation. For some parameters a behaviour characteristics for systems with tendency to form helicoidal ordered structure belowT c is observed.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL:
