The ex situ (NH4)2S treatment of the cross-sectional surfaces of heterostructures was found to be very stable against oxidation. STM images showed no appreciable deterioration of surface quality in vacuum after more than 40 days. The spectroscopic results on the undoped epilayer showed diodelike behavior, confirming that an undoped large band gap region can be imaged by STM through carrier injection from the conductive regions.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1618-2650Source: Springer Online Journal Archives 1860-2000Topics: Chemistry and PharmacologyNotes: Summary A method comprising digestion of zeolites with an acid mixture followed by inductively-coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) has been established for the simultaneous determination of Al, Na, La and Si in various zeolite samples. Various aspects including sample digestion, instrumental interference effects as well as analytical performance and applicability of the established method have been investigated in detail. The results indicated that aqua regia in combination with hydrofluoric acid was effective for decomposition of a wide variety of zeolite samples. The effects of borate and fluoride ions in the digested sample solution on the ICP-AES determination have been carefully investigated. The method established will be generally applicable for the simultaneous determination of Al, Na, La and Si in zeolite with a precision of ≤5%. The analytical results obtained were checked by comparison with classical wet chemistry methods and found to be in reasonably good agreement. Application to the kinetic study of La-NaY exchange reaction was also performed.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 0538-8066Keywords: Chemistry ; Physical ChemistrySource: Wiley InterScience Backfile Collection 1832-2000Topics: Chemistry and PharmacologyNotes: The pyrolysis of 1-iodopropane has been studied by the variable encounter method (VEM) at temperatures from 625 to 840 K. Deactivating wall collisions are found to be stronger for this molecule than for the hydrocarbons previously studied in this temperature range. The results of this study are compared with earlier steady-state work.Additional Material: 3 Ill.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL:
