An H− beam originates in the cesium loaded magnetron source, is preaccelerated by a radio frequency quadrupole to 750 keV, raised to 50 MeV energy in three rf resonators, and is analyzed in the transport line. The H− ions are converted to protons by stripping, when the beam is injected over several turns into the synchrotron DESY3.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

Published 1984Staff ViewISSN: 1600-0528Source: Blackwell Publishing Journal Backfiles 1879-2005Topics: MedicineNotes: Abstract Dental caries, debris (DI-S) and sugar intake were determined for 766 rural Black, urban Black, coloured, Indian and While children, using standardized techniques. In general sucrose intake, both quantity and frequency was low in rural Black children yet these children had relatively few caries-free individuals and higher than expected mean dmft scores. Comparison with earlier studies in the same localities has shown a worsening of dental caries in all groups except the White, in which the situation has improved. Sucrose consumption declined in rural Black, and White groups, remained steady in urban Black children and increased in coloured and Indian groups.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

For Nuva Seal or Epoxylite 9075 it would appear that it does not matter which concentration between the concentration levels of 30 and 70% is used.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1365-2842Source: Blackwell Publishing Journal Backfiles 1879-2005Topics: MedicineNotes: A report is presented of extended studies of tensile bond strength of Nuva Seal to fluoride-treated enamel 1 week, 3 months and 9 months after application. The differences in strength were not statistically significant. The use of stannous fluoride as the topical agent did not lead to any marked evidence of enamel staining.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

ISSN: 1365-2842Source: Blackwell Publishing Journal Backfiles 1879-2005Topics: MedicineNotes: The tensile bond strength of a polymeric fissure sealant to enamel treated with a variety of topical fluorides was determined. Application of acidulated phosphate fluoride solutions (APF) prior to and after acid etching reduces the tensile bond strength of Nuva Seal from 36·6±9·0 kg/cm2 to 4·9±3·3 kg/cm2 and 23·8±6·3 kg/cm3 respectively. The treatment of the etched enamel with freshly prepared 8% stannous fluoride solution prior to Nuva Seal® application significantly increases the tensile bond strength to 55·7±17·1 kg/cm2. It is recommended that clinical procedures such as the application of fissure sealants, acid etch composite restorations and the direct attachment of orthodontic brackets, all of which involve etching of the enamel, should not be preceeded by the topical application of APF solutions.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -
