ISSN: 1089-7666Source: AIP Digital ArchiveTopics: PhysicsNotes: A two-dimensional, three-fluid code based on the two-fluid Potter code [Methods in Computational Physics (Academic, New York, 1970), Vol. 9, p. 340] was developed for simulating the plasma focus discharge. With this code it is possible to treat the neutral gas in addition to the plasma components and to model the ionization and recombination phenomena. Thus the sheet dynamics in a plasma focus can be studied and effects investigated such as the occurrence of residual gas (or plasma) density behind the current sheet in the run-down phase. This is a prerequisite to the occurrence of leak currents, which are one of the causes limiting the performance of large plasma focus devices. It is shown that fast operating foci with small dimensions behave favorably compared with the "classical'' Mather focus [Methods of Experimental Physics (Academic, New York, 1971), Vol. 9B, p. 187] with long coaxial electrodes.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -

We use current-voltage characteristics measured by A.C. Prior in 1957 [1]. In evaluating the impact-ionization rate we take into account Auger and linear recombination, surface generation,z-pinch compression, and doping of the sample. We also discuss the effects of ohmic heating and change in electron temperature. The basic equations are (i) Hooke's law in the elastic range and (ii) a generalized v. Mises criterion, which is able to describe hardening in an isotropic as well as in an anisotropic way, together with a deformation law connecting strain rates and stress rates in the plastic range. The range of elastoplastic deformations is defined by an addition of elastic and plastic strain rates. Unloading occurs in a differentiated elastic way.Notes: Übersicht Für dünne Schalentragwerke wird eine allgemeine Theorie zur Berechnung elastoplastischer Formänderungen bei kleinen Verzerrungen angegeben. Als Grundlagen dienen dazu für elastische Formänderungen das Hookesche Gesetz und für plastische Formänderungen eine verallgemeinerte v. Misessche Fließbedingung, die die Möglichkeit isotroper oder anisotroper Verfestigung noch offen läßt, verbunden mit einem Formänderungsgesetz, das die Inkremente von Verzerrungen und Spannungen miteinander verknüpft. Daher erscheint eine Identifizierung mit dem Boeckschen benignem Miliarlupoid, von dem oben gleichzeitig ein klinisch und histologisch ganz typischer Fall beschrieben wird, ungezwungen nicht möglich. Für Tuberkulose und auch für Allgemeinerkrankung des Organismus (Schaumanns Lymphogranuloma benignum) ist in unserem Fall von Lupus pernio kein Anhaltspunkt, auch nicht für die Gleichstellung des Krankheitsbildes mit der Sternbergschen Lymphogranulomatose.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -
