Abstract Hydrohaematometrocolpos may occur secondary to isolated imperforate hymen, genital tract duplications, and complex urogenital sinus or cloacal abnormalities. The presenting symptoms and relation to menarche provide clues to the diagnosis. Examination of the abdomen, introitus, and vagina may confirm the diagnosis and assist in clarification of the anatomy. In genital duplications ultrasonography further delineates the pelvic anatomy and demonstrates unilateral renal agenesis. We have reviewed our 10-year experience and present an approach for the diagnosis and investigation of these patients.
