Dissipative processes at forward angles in the28Si+natSi Reaction at 12.4 MeV/Nucleon

Abstract The velocities of heavy residues with atomic numbers 〉8 were measured in the28Si +natSi reaction at 12.4 MeV/u. The analysis revealed the existence of a fully damped component peaked strongly in the beam direction. The angular and velocity distributions of this component are determined mainly by recoils from secondary emission of particles.
