The Cu + ions are responsible for a few ultraviolet absorption bands which, after optical stimulation, give rise to emission at ≈︁ 4000 Å. The lifetime, τ R , of the lowest excited state, presumably 3d 9 4s, is measured and found to be ≈︁ 50 μs in KCl:Cu, ≈︁ 100 μs in KBr:Cu and ≈︁ 5 μs in KI:Cu). The thermal de‐excitation energies, Δ E d , are also measured and found to be ≈︁ 0,73 eV (KCl:Cu), ≈︁ 0,76 eV (KBr:Cu), ≈︁ 0,61 eV (KI:Cu). These results together with measurements of other workers may suggest that the transition 3d 10 ≈︁ 3d 9 4s, forbidden in the free ion, becomes partially allowed due to the crystal field. The implications of an off‐centre position of the Cu + ion inthe K + vacancy are also discussed and found to be consistent with the experimental data.Type of Medium: Online ResourceISSN: 0370-1972, 1521-3951URL: DOI: Language: EnglishPublisher: WileyPublication Date: 1968detail.hit.zdb_id: 208851-41481096-7 -

In: physica status solidi (b), Wiley, Vol. 25, No. 2 ( 1968-01), p. 567-582Abstract: Previous theoretical and experimental investigations concerning nucleation in Fe whiskers are discussed briefly. It is proposed that Brown's paradox, i.e.; the discrepancy between theory and experiment for particle radii greater than 1000 Å, results from the effect of the stray‐field at the front plane of the particle. This view is supported by a simple model for the orientation of the magnetization with respect to the easy direction as a function of the field intensity. For small fields the magnetization is nearly perpendicular to the axis of the particle.Type of Medium: Online ResourceISSN: 0370-1972, 1521-3951URL: DOI: Language: EnglishPublisher: WileyPublication Date: 1968detail.hit.zdb_id: 208851-41481096-7 -

Angewandte Chemie Vol. 134, No. 5 ( 2022-01-26)Staff View LinksIn: Angewandte Chemie, Wiley, Vol. 134, No. 5 ( 2022-01-26)Abstract: The clinical prospect of sonodynamic therapy (SDT) has not been fully realized due to the scarcity of efficient sonosensitizers. Herein, we designed phthalocyanine–artesunate conjugates (e.g. ZnPcT 4 A), which could generate up to ca. 10‐fold more reactive oxygen species (ROS) than the known sonosensitizer protoporphyrin IX. Meanwhile, an interesting and significant finding of aggregation‐enhanced sonodynamic activity (AESA) was observed for the first time. ZnPcT 4 A showed about 60‐fold higher sonodynamic ROS generation in the aggregated form than in the disaggregated form in aqueous solutions. That could be attributed to the boosted ultrasonic cavitation of nanostructures. The level of the AESA effect depended on the aggregation ability of sonosensitizer molecules and the particle size of their aggregates. Moreover, biological studies demonstrated that ZnPcT 4 A had high anticancer activities and biosafety. This study thus opens up a new avenue the development of efficient organic sonosensitizers.Type of Medium: Online ResourceISSN: 0044-8249, 1521-3757URL: DOI: RVK: VA 2100VN 5020Language: EnglishPublisher: WileyPublication Date: 2022detail.hit.zdb_id: 505868-5506609-8514305-6505872-71479266-7505867-3506259-7 -

Type of Medium: Online ResourceISSN: 0044-8249, 1521-3757URL: DOI: RVK: VA 2100VN 5020Language: EnglishPublisher: WileyPublication Date: 2022detail.hit.zdb_id: 505868-5506609-8514305-6505872-71479266-7505867-3506259-7 -

The catalytic state accessed under non‐equilibrium conditions showed acceleration of peroxidase activity resulting in degradation of the substrate and subsequently led to disassembly. Equilibrated systems could not access the three‐dimensional microphases and showed substantially lower catalytic activity. Further, the assembled state showed latent catalytic function (promiscuity) to hydrolyze a precursor to yield the same substrate. Consequently, the assembly demonstrated protometabolism by exploiting the peroxidase‐hydrolase cascade to augment the lifetime and the mechanical properties of the catalytic state.Type of Medium: Online ResourceISSN: 0044-8249, 1521-3757URL: DOI: RVK: VA 2100VN 5020Language: EnglishPublisher: WileyPublication Date: 2022detail.hit.zdb_id: 505868-5506609-8514305-6505872-71479266-7505867-3506259-7 -

Type of Medium: Online ResourceISSN: 0370-1972, 1521-3951URL: DOI: Language: EnglishPublisher: WileyPublication Date: 1968detail.hit.zdb_id: 208851-41481096-7 -

Angewandte Chemie Vol. 134, No. 6 ( 2022-02)Staff View LinksIn: Angewandte Chemie, Wiley, Vol. 134, No. 6 ( 2022-02)Abstract: In eukaryotic cells, enzymes are compartmentalized into specific organelles so that different reactions and processes can be performed efficiently and with a high degree of control. In this work, we show that these features can be artificially emulated in robust synthetic organelles constructed using an enzyme co‐compartmentalization strategy. We describe an in situ encapsulation approach that allows enzymes to be loaded into silica nanoreactors in well‐defined compositions. The nanoreactors can be combined into integrated systems to produce a desired reaction outcome. We used the selective enzyme co‐compartmentalization and nanoreactor integration to regulate competitive cascade reactions and to modulate the kinetics of sequential reactions involving multiple nanoreactors. Furthermore, we show that the nanoreactors can be efficiently loaded into giant polymer vesicles, resulting in multi‐compartmentalized microreactors.Type of Medium: Online ResourceISSN: 0044-8249, 1521-3757URL: DOI: RVK: VA 2100VN 5020Language: EnglishPublisher: WileyPublication Date: 2022detail.hit.zdb_id: 505868-5506609-8514305-6505872-71479266-7505867-3506259-7 -
