Summary Abnormal calcification on skull films in the region of the sella turcica is not commonly found with chromophobe adenoma. A patient with such calcification in a verified chromophobe adenoma is presented. From the literature the incidence of calcification in these tumours is reviewed. The importance of considering a chromophobe adenoma in the differential diagnosis of parasellar calcification from the surgical point of view is mentioned.

    Notes:
Summary Intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia (IPEH) is a rare benign reactive lesion usually found in thrombosed subcutaneous blood vessels. It uncommonly occurs in the central nervous system and may be mistaken for a more malignant type of tumour such as angiosarcoma. We present a first case of multiple IPEH occurring intracranially in a 51-year-old woman. She developed neurological compromises secondary to the mass affect of the haematoma arising from one of the lesions. Prompt surgical evacuation of the haematoma stabilized her condition. Surgical treatment, pathological findings, radiographic characteristics, and a review of the literature are presented.

Summary Six patients with epilepsy were found to have intracranial aneurysms, mainly in the middle cerebral territory. The mechanism of production of these presenting symptoms is considered to be a minor haemorrhage with localized destruction of brain, or calcification in the aneurysmal wall behaving as a hamartoma. In the differential diagnosis of factors causing epileptic attacks, an intracranial aneurysm should be considered, and its presence should be excluded by angiography before any blind surgical procedure for epilepsy is undertaken.

Summary A 49-year-old female patient with six intracranial aneurysms, all of which were treated successfully by direct surgery, is reported. She had a major subarachnoid haemorrhage 10 years ago. Because of difficulty in identifying the offending aneurysm she was not surgically treated at that time. The natural progression of intracranial aneurysms, the problem of identifying the lesion in a patient with multiple aneurysms, and an example of excellent recovery of visual function following surgical treatment are discussed.

Abstract We present a patient who developed a painful third nerve galsy two days after angiography had demonstrated a large aneurysm on the P1 segment of the left posterior cerebral artery. CT at this stage demonstrated extensive thrombus within the previously uncomplicated aneurysm. The haemodynamics of this aneurysm resulted in incomplete clearance of contrast medium from its fundus and we posit that this may have promoted thrombus formation. Six months later the aneurysm was shown angiographically to be completely occluded.

Abstract The unsteady viscous incompressible flow around a circular cylinder is studied numerically for high Reynolds number. The two dimensional Navier-Stokes equation in stream function-vorticity formulation is solved. A fractional step method is used to solve the stream function equation while the vorticity transport equation is solved using a third order upwinding scheme. The computed solutions by the finite difference method agree reasonably well with the available experimental and other computational results at a Reynolds number of 9500 and 4500. These comparisons are for the initial stages of flow evolution when the wake bubble is symmetric.

Abstract The paper presents a study of three particle pseudo-rapidity correlations among showers in12C-Emulsion interaction at 4.5 GeV/c per nucleon. The experimental data have been compared with the Monte-Carlo simulated values assuming an independent emission. It has been observed that there is some short range correlations among the showers, of dynamic origin.
