The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to achieve gender equality through SDG 5. We show that current global discourses on sustainability not only have blind spots when it comes to the mechanisms of (re)producing gender inequality but that digital transformation processes are also insufficiently reflected on. We see gender-sensitive IT design, a digital equality law and rigorous impact assessments of global sustainability politics and research on discrimination as possible approaches to resolving this tension. Keywords: Sozialwissenschaften, Soziologie ; Social sciences, sociology, anthropology ; Ziele für nachhaltige Entwicklung; DSGVO; Sustainable Development Goals; SDGs; GDPR ; Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung ; Women's Studies, Feminist Studies, Gender Studies ; Geschlecht ; Gleichstellung ; nachhaltige Entwicklung ; UNO ; Informatik ; Gleichstellungspolitik ; Nachhaltigkeit ; Digitalisierung ; Datenschutz ; soziale Gerechtigkeit ; Ungleichheit ; geschlechtsspezifische Faktoren ; gender ; affirmative action ; sustainable development ; computer science ; equal opportunity policy ; sustainability ; digitalization ; data protection ; social justice ; inequality ; gender-specific factorsType: Zeitschriftenartikel, journal article -

In 2014, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution that recognized bullying as a global concern and encouraged member states to take measures for preventing and responding to bullying (UN General Assembly 2014). Marta Santos Pais, UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, emphasized the importance of reducing bullying for attaining the Sustainable Development Goals, saying that ‘preventing and addressing bullying will no doubt contribute to the promotion of the safe and non-violent learning environments and to the elimination of physical, sexual and emotional violence that the [Sustainable Development Goals] seek to guarantee' (UN News 2015). Research on cultural differences in cyberbullying has grown in recent years, given that cyberbullying is a global phenomenon (Sittichai & Smith 2015). Yet, research on cyberbullying is still typically conducted within a culture as opposed to across cultures. This chapter explores the role of culture in shaping bullying and presents empirical findings based on direct comparisons among university students from Germany, Hong Kong, and Japan. Keywords: Psychologie ; Soziale Probleme und Sozialdienste ; Psychology ; Social problems and services ; bullying; cybermobbing ; Sozialpsychologie ; soziale Probleme ; Social Psychology ; Social Problems ; Mobbing ; kulturelle Faktoren ; Bundesrepublik Deutschland ; Hongkong ; Japan ; psychische Folgen ; Prävention ; mobbing ; cultural factors ; Federal Republic of Germany ; Hong Kong ; psychological consequences ; prevention ; 10700 ; 20500 ; 10200 ; 20800Type: Sammelwerksbeitrag, collection article -

Publication Date: 2025-05-19Description: Since the emergence of Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) programmes in the early 21st century, these initiatives have become a global effort to leverage sport in addressing social challenges and advancing the SDGs, with the promotion of gender equality (Goal 5) being one of their key objectives. In male‐dominated sports environments, both women and sexual and gender minorities (SGM) face persistent barriers such as gender stereotypes, exclusion, inequitable regulations, and discrimination, highlighting the critical need for interventions that promote gender inclusivity. While some studies have examined the role of SDP programmes in promoting gender inclusion, the field remains fragmented and largely overlooks SGM. There is also a lack of systematic analysis of how SDP programmes specifically impact the inclusion of women and SGM. To address this gap, we conducted a scoping review of 18 academic articles on SDP programmes that focus on gender inclusivity, employing thematic analysis to categorise findings based on research contexts, contents, methods, and outcomes. By synthesising existing literature, this article seeks to map the development of this emerging field, identify existing contributions and ongoing challenges, and provide insights to enhance the effectiveness of future SDP initiatives in promoting gender inclusion. Findings suggest that while some SDP programmes can empower women and SGM, their effectiveness is often constrained by structural inequalities and varying programme designs. Our review also identifies gaps in long‐term evaluation and inclusivity for diverse gender identities. Keywords: Sozialwissenschaften, Soziologie ; Social sciences, sociology, anthropology ; LGBTQ+; Sport for Development and Peace; females in sports; gender in sports; social inclusion ; Freizeitforschung, Freizeitsoziologie ; Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung ; Leisure Research ; Women's Studies, Feminist Studies, Gender Studies ; Sport ; Gender ; Integration ; geschlechtsspezifische Faktoren ; Gleichstellung ; soziale Ungleichheit ; sports ; gender ; integration ; gender-specific factors ; affirmative action ; social inequalityType: Zeitschriftenartikel, journal article -

Unabsorbed nutrients in the distal gut inhibit upper gastrointestinal motility.2. The aim of the present study was to investigate changes in gastric motility following segmental resections and to evaluate the role of capsaicin-sensitive afferent neurons that may be responsible for these changes.3. Wistar albino rats of both sexes (200–250 g) were used. Under aseptic conditions and anaesthesia (100 mg/kg ketamine), a baby-feeding tube was placed distal to the resection in either the ileum or caecum for intraluminal perfusion of saline or 20% lipid. In one group of rats, capsaicin was perfused (0.6%) for afferent denervation. One group of rats underwent jejunal and ileal resections with end-to-end anastomosis of the remaining segments and were cannulated distal to these anastomosis. Ten days after the surgery, the percentage gastric emptying of a solid meal was calculated.4. Intra-ileal (18%) and intracaecal (34%) lipid perfusions delayed gastric emptying compared with groups perfused with saline (54% and 74%, respectively; P 〈 0.001 and P 〈 0.01). The delay in gastric emptying by ileal perfusion was significantly greater than that following caecal perfusion (P 〈 0.05). With both resections, gastric emptying was delayed compared with sham groups (P 〈 0.05–0.01). Local administration of capsaicin abolished the inhibitory effect of lipid on gastric emptying in healthy intact rats and in the jejunal-resection group, whereas a partial reversal was seen in the ileal-resection group.5. In conclusion, the present data demonstrate that in both healthy intact rat groups and in short bowel groups, capsaicin-sensitive extrinsic neurons participate in ‘brake’ mechanisms of the distal gut.Type of Medium: Electronic ResourceURL: -
